Jaqui Smith, PCG Director
I have lived in Paganhill for 8 years. I retired in 2012 but felt I wanted to work or do something worthwhile. My son had a motorbike accident in 2004 and since then we have experienced the many changes to the benefit system and the unknown outcomes of applying which can add to anxiety and other mental health issues. The long journey back to health has still left him with a disability which has to be managed. Getting the right help and information was key but even though I had previously worked for organisations in the voluntary sector, things had changed and I was starting again to build my knowledge of this area. This made me think that there must be others in the same boat, so for me, at the heart of the Community Group we started, is the importance of introducing people to organisations that can help. I talked to local people to see what they wanted. In 2017 I got together with a few people in Paganhill who wanted to create an area that is a good, safe place to live. I had lived in a few places around this area but experienced how friendly people were in Paganhill and so we are building on this strength to create a community that cares for each other and helps each other.
Shyamala Ananthan, PCG Director
I have been living in the UK close to 2 decades, particularly in Stroud for about 5 years and represent Farmhill and Paganhill Ward as a Councillor for Stroud Town Council. I am working for one of the leading aerospace companies, as a Programme Director/Value Stream Management. I serve one of the local school’s Governing bodies as a Parent Governor, and I am a STEM Ambassador working with primary schools, secondary schools and universities mentoring and promoting STEM careers. Representing Paganhill Community Group’s Board of Directors as one of the Directors provides immense pleasure and satisfaction in helping the community.
I am absolutely passionate about my community’s well-being and improvement in all fronts such as the quality of life for families, pollution free lifestyle, enhanced and user-friendly roads, inclusion & diversity, safety and security of people, elderly health & well-being support, children’s growth & education, physical and emotional well-being of my people, businesses and developments, and the environment & mother nature.

Ananthan Kadarkarai, PCG Director
I have been living in the UK close to 2 decades, particularly in Stroud for about 5 years and work for Stroud District Council in their Community Task Force Projects. I am also working on property business and hotelier by profession with extensive experience in hotel and staff management.
Representing Paganhill Community Group’s Board of Directors as one of the Director provides me the opportunity and satisfaction in helping the local community. Pleasure to use my skills and experience to help support the community.
